The Wells Academy Heatwave Information
In light of the expected high temperatures across Monday 18th July and Tuesday 19th July, we would like to make a further alteration to the uniform expectations that we communicated earlier this month.
On Monday and Tuesday students will not be required to wear their blazer, tie or jumper. For these two days only, students will also be permitted to wear knee length plain shorts instead of trousers. Students may also choose to wear a knee length skirt, in line with our current policy. Students will need to continue to wear their school shoes and white collared shirt as normal however the shirt does not need to be tucked in and their top button may be undone.
We also ask that your child is sent to school with a full water bottle which we will ensure is filled throughout the day. We would also recommend the application of sun cream before arriving to school.
We will ensure the school remains well ventilated to ensure our students are as comfortable as possible throughout the heatwave. We will also ensure that during lunch students are able to be indoors with appropriate ventilation.
The Academy will remain open during this period and therefore our expectation is for all students to attend the Academy.
Thank you once again for your support and I look forward to seeing all students tomorrow
